Our Heritage

Crewe, a financial firm established in 2011, draws inspiration from the storied history of Crewe, England. The town’s iconic Crewe Railway Works, once a sprawling engineering facility, played a pivotal role in shaping the global railway industry.

The facility transformed the town from a rural English hamlet into one of the most important railway manufacturing hubs in the world. At its peak, it provided employment for over 20,000 craftsmen who were skilled in their trade and proud of their work. The locomotives they created set world records and became renowned across the globe for their elegance and power, feeding Britain’s economic arteries. More importantly, these craftsmen created trains that allowed working people to travel across the country, visiting the seaside for the first time, venturing beyond the familiarity of their hometowns, and exploring in ways they had never imagined possible. These trains sent soldiers to war and allowed children to escape bomb-ravaged cities.

Crewe’s namesake, culture, and heritage date back to 1840 with Crewe Railway Works, a railway engineering facility that once stretched for over two miles across the English town of Crewe.

Ever Pressing Forward

Thousands of hands went into creating the locomotives that made Crewe famous. These hands were skilled–therein lay the forger, the boiler maker, the fitter, the machinist, the carpenter, and the apprentice. Crewe’s success was rooted in the company’s specialization, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship at every turn.

In 1946, after over one hundred years of fine craftsmanship, the city of Crewe upheld its reputation by manufacturing some of the world’s most iconic hand-crafted automobiles, including Bentley. This tradition of craftsmanship has been passed down from grandparent to parent to child, with multiple generations of a family collaborating in the works. Crewe continues to stand for teamwork, service, craftsmanship, sweat, determination, skill, community, family, and pride.

Crewe, England’s coat of arms bears the Latin motto “Semper Contendo” or “Ever Pressing Forward.” This contrasts with the town’s former motto, “Never Behind,” emphasizing its commitment to progress and innovation.

Crewe’s previous coat of arms featured a distinctive crest with the motto “Never Behind.” This motto symbolized the town’s relentless drive and forward-thinking spirit, reflecting its historical significance as a major railway hub and industrial powerhouse.

The Crewe township crest symbolizes the town’s industrial heritage. The wheel represents the railway industry, the lion holding a cog wheel represents the engineering industry, and the Latin motto “Semper Contendo” or “Ever Pressing Forward” reflects the town’s progressive spirit.

Our logo’s shield design is a nod to the rich history of Crewe, England, a town known for its industrial past. This emblem symbolizes the strength, reliability, and enduring legacy that we strive to embody.

The two stripes symbolize Crewe’s core values, a relentless pursuit of excellence and an unwavering commitment to integrity. The stripes run parallel to each other and continue in an ascending direction forward, a reflection of Crewe’s dual-purpose strategy towards success alongside clients and their interests. The upward direction is meant to reflect Crewe’s ‘Never Behind’ philosophy.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Salt Lake City, Crewe Capital is an investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions. The firm has expanded its offices to Denver and New York City.

Established in 2015, Crewe Advisors is an SEC-registered investment advisor offering comprehensive, fiduciary wealth management services, including financial, estate, investment, tax, risk, and philanthropic planning. With offices in Salt Lake City and Scottsdale, Crewe Advisors provides fee-based, independent advice to clients.

Crewe Foundation was established in 2021. This foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that helps donors become more efficient and impactful in their philanthropic giving, offering various services like donor-advised funds, charitable trusts, and grant processing.

The Crewe Cup is the premiere amateur match play golf tournament in the world. It offers a unique blend of competition and philanthropy. Since its inception in 2011, it has fostered camaraderie, created unforgettable experiences, and raised significant funds to support children's charities.

Established in 2022, Crewe Design combines luxury and philanthropy as a premium lifestyle brand where 50% of every purchase goes straight to charity. Upon order completion, customers receive a tax-deductible receipt for 50% of the purchase price and another receipt for the other 50%.
